20th century : 
The last occupant was IHK Margravine Theodora von Baden, who lived in the castle until her death in 1969. The New Castle was also the administrative centre of the Margrave of Baden until 1979. After 1970, the castle was used only as a museum.

21st century :

• Restoration of Caslte and Gardens begins
